Dainis Pundurs (LV). PORCELAIN AND CONSCIOUS DREAMS. - 2800 Eur

Year and Place:   2017, Latvia.

Materials:   Porcelain, glaze, wire.

Description:   The artist acknowledges that something hidden within porcelain itself provokes the creation of spatial visions—an urge to approach the very limits of material possibility, to surpass them in imagination, and to momentarily escape the constraints of three‑dimensional space and gravity.

The making process becomes a dream‑like journey in which the material reveals a framework of abstract geometric principles—an underlying order that shapes both the visible and invisible worlds.

Delicate porcelain rod structures strive to open the cages of dimension, revealing the depth of free space and its potential. As the viewer’s gaze follows the direction of the lines, it is guided through open labyrinths whose purpose is to liberate spatial imagination.

In this dream‑journey, the artist felt like a pagan craftsman of puzuri—peering into Plato’s realm of ideas and the architecture of three‑dimensional forms.
