"Fantastiski reāls" pēta nestabilo robežu starp zināšanām un iztēli. Darbs dzima no vienkāršas, tomēr satraucošas pieredzes: pamostoties nakts vidū un uz mirkli ieraugot sienu, kuras tur nebija. Tajā brīdī pārliecība izgaisa, atklājot, cik viegli iztēle pārveido realitāti, pirms saprāts to atkal atjauno.

Instalāciju veido ar rokām veidoti keramikas jumta dakstiņi — objekti, kas saistās ar aizsardzību, ilgtspējību un kaut ko ierastu. Tā vietā, lai veidotu jumtu, dakstiņi sabrūk viļņojošā ainavā, kuru pārtrauc rakumu veida deformācijas, ko iedvesmojuši kurmja rakumi. Līdzīgi kā kurmji, rokoties zem zemes un izceļot virspusē apraktus fragmentus, instalācija izjauc redzamo realitātes kārtību, atsedzot slēptos slāņus, kuros atmiņa, uztvere, fantastika un materiālā eksistence kļūst neatdalāmas.

Darbs apšauba pieņēmumu, ka realitāte tiek konstruēta tikai no tā, ko mēs zinām. Tā vietā tas piedāvā iztēli kā aktīvu spēku, kas nepārtraukti piedalās mūsu pasaules pieredzes veidošanā. Pazīstami arhitektūras elementi zaudē savu stabilo identitāti un kļūst par divdomīgām formām, kas svārstās starp ainavu un arhitektūru, objektu un ķermeni, pārliecību un ilūziju.

Kā vietai pielāgota instalācija "Fantastiski reāls" tiek pārveidota katrai izstādes telpai no jauna. Katrs jauns arhitektūras konteksts rada citādu redzējumu, ļaujot darbam kļūt par īslaicīgām pārrunām starp fizisko vidi un paša skatītāja iztēli.

Fantastically Real explores the unstable boundary between knowledge and imagination. The work emerged from a simple yet unsettling experience: waking in the middle of the night and momentarily perceiving a wall that did not exist. In that instant, certainty dissolved, revealing how easily imagination reshapes reality before reason restores it.

The installation is composed of hand-built ceramic roof tiles—objects associated with protection, permanence, and familiarity. Rather than forming a roof, the tiles collapse into an undulating landscape interrupted by mound-like deformations inspired by molehills. Like moles burrowing beneath the earth and bringing buried fragments to the surface, the installation disturbs the visible order of reality, exposing hidden layers where memory, perception, fiction, and material existence become inseparable.

The work questions the assumption that reality is constructed solely through what we know. Instead, it proposes imagination as an active force that continuously participates in shaping our experience of the world. Familiar architectural elements lose their stable identity and become ambiguous forms that oscillate between landscape and architecture, object and body, certainty and illusion.

As a site-specific installation, Fantastically Real is reconfigured for every exhibition space. Each new architectural context generates a different reading, allowing the work to become a temporary negotiation between the physical environment and the viewer's own imagination.
